Scott Evers has extensive wine industry experience, working in a National Sales and Marketing discipline in the wine industry from 1998 to 2004 and starting up his own business, Virtuoso Wines, in mid 2004.From 1992 to 1998, Scott worked in the field of Event Management and Hospitality.

Scott’s work career started in 1992 when he was employed as a waiter at the National Art Gallery of Australia in Canberra to help pay for his university degree. During the next four years Scott was promoted to Manager of the Gallery’s catering sector and he held this position until 1996 when he then decided to move to Sydney to embark on his then chosen career in Event Management.

In 1997 Scott’s family purchased a property at East Gresford in the Hunter Valley and established a vineyard called Camyr Allyn Wines. Scott's brother James has also been a winemaker for ten years and is now the senior winemaker at Yaldara winery in the Barossa Valley, so with a whole family entrenched in the wine industry it was inevitable that after another two years in the event management industry that Scott’s passion was to become wine.

In 1998 Scott was employed as the Marketing Manager for a Vineyard in the Hunter Valley. In early 2002 he was head-hunted by another winery and took on the responsibility of National Sales and Marketing Manager, a position he held for the next two and a half years.

It was during this time spent with key account corporate and trade clients that Scott realised a growing need for public awareness and support of the 2,000+ boutique wineries of Australia. This, along with international wines, was to become his passion. In late 2004 he started up his own wine business called Virtuoso Wines with the vision and determination to expose, educate and share the exceptional quality that these boutique and international producers have to offer.

In conjunction with starting up his own business, Scott also had an ongoing consultancy contract as Manager and Sommelier for the world famous Berowra Waters Inn restaurant on the Hawkesbury River in Sydney up until mid 2008.

Scott has completed a Graduate Diploma in Wine Business from the renowned South Australian University and a degree in Administration with a major in Marketing. He has also successfully completed an advanced certificate from the UK based Wine & Spirit Education Trust.
